Common sense prevails, Lee Byrne is free to play for his country this weekend at Twickenham against England after his appeal into his 2 week ban waas reduced to a €5,000 fine. The ERC took its pretty time, the hearing started at 5pm in Glasgow and only finished up at 8.30PM!

Byrne had been, in the eyes of most of the ruby world, treated very harshly for his part in Ospreys fielding 16 players briefly in the final round of the Heineken Cup against Leicester tigers. His club, Ospreys, had already been fined €25,000 for not informing the 4th official that Byrne wished to return to the field of play after going off with a blood injury.
